What it does

This server downloads videos from URLs (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X, Twitch, Vimeo, Reddit, WeChat Channels, and others), extracts transcripts using platform captions or local speech recognition, and generates keyframes that capture scene changes and important visual content. It runs entirely locally without API keys or uploads, designed for AI agents to process video content.

  • Download a video file from a URL, optionally limiting to a specific time range, using ranged fetches where supported by the platform.
  • Extract a transcript from a video using native platform captions when available, or fall back to local speech recognition (Whisper or SenseVoice) for videos without captions.
  • Get a small set of deduplicated keyframes showing scene changes, on-screen text, and visually distinct moments instead of uniform frame sampling.

Tools this server exposes

ToolDoes
video_infoLook up video metadata (title, creator, duration, chapters, description, comment count) without downloading.
video_downloadDownload a video file in full or from a specified time range, with cookie support for age-restricted or members-only content.
video_extractExtract transcript and keyframes from a video, returning file paths and summaries rather than embedding large content in the response.

Before you enable it

An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
