What it does
Mnema is a self-hosted knowledge workspace that publishes documents, decisions, and workflows to MCP-aware AI clients over the Model Context Protocol. It lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other AI tools read your team's live context directly without uploads or copy-paste.
- Connect Claude or ChatGPT to your self-hosted workspace so the AI reads your team's docs and workflows in real-time when answering questions.
- Build step-by-step workflows and let AI agents walk through them interactively, proposing edits that you can approve.
- Store decisions, meeting notes, and documentation in one place and have multiple MCP-aware clients query that single source of truth.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| read_docs | Retrieve documents and folders from the workspace. |
| read_flows | Access step-by-step workflows stored in the workspace. |
| propose_edits | Suggest changes to documents and workflows that workspace members can review and approve. |
| commit_writes | Write or update documents and workflows when approved. |
| search | Search documents and content in the workspace (with optional semantic search via Voyage API). |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
