What it does
An MCP server that wraps the Synder Importer API to import CSV/XLSX accounting data into QuickBooks Online or Xero. It exposes 19 tools for file upload, field mapping, import execution, status polling, and import lifecycle management. Intended for accounting professionals and developers who need to automate data imports via Claude Code or Claude Desktop.
- Upload a CSV file of bills or transactions and import them directly into QuickBooks Online or Xero with automatic or custom field mapping.
- Create and manage reusable field mappings for recurring import tasks, such as mapping Stripe payouts or vendor invoices to your accounting system.
- Monitor import progress, check for warnings or failures, and revert failed imports without manual cleanup.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| import_csv | High-level import flow that auto-resolves the company, uploads a CSV/XLSX file, runs a dry-run to preview the mapping, and executes the import on confirmation. |
| wait_for_import | Polls a running import job to completion with exponential backoff. |
| list_companies | Lists connected QuickBooks Online or Xero companies. |
| list_entities | Lists importable entity types for a given company. |
| get_fields | Returns available fields for a specific entity type in the target accounting system. |
| list_mappings | Lists saved field mappings for the user's account. |
| create_mapping | Creates a new named field mapping. |
| update_mapping | Updates an existing saved field mapping. |
| delete_mapping | Deletes a saved field mapping. |
| auto_import | Creates an import job with automatic field mapping. |
| execute_import | Executes an import job using an explicit or previously auto-mapped field mapping. |
| get_import_status | Retrieves the current status of an import job. |
| get_import_results | Retrieves results, warnings, and error details from a completed import. |
| cancel_import | Cancels a running import job. |
| revert_import | Reverts a completed import to undo the changes in the accounting system. |
| get_settings | Retrieves import settings for a specific company. |
| update_settings | Updates import settings such as default mapping or behavior for a company. |
| get_account | Retrieves account information and validates the API token. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
