What it does
Code Graph is an MCP server that exposes a codebase's call graph, dependencies, and cross-repository relationships. It is for developers working in Claude Code who want precise answers about code structure, impact analysis, and test coverage without manual search.
- Query how a function works and find all its callers and dependencies across repositories.
- Check the blast radius of a symbol before editing to understand what breaks if you change it.
- Find which tests cover a specific function or trace the call chain for a handler.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| ask_codebase | Answer behavior questions about the codebase with file citations. |
| estimate_scope | Estimate the scope and impact of a proposed change before implementation. |
| list_tests_for | Find tests that cover a specific symbol or function. |
| map | Generate a high-level module map showing functional modules, hubs, and cross-module coupling. |
| ref | Pin session reads to a tracked feature branch or index uncommitted working tree changes. |
| history | Retrieve recently changed files and recent commits. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
