What it does
This MCP server exposes ShortPixel's SPIO image optimization API to AI agents. Users supply their own ShortPixel API key on each request, which the server forwards to ShortPixel's public API without storing keys locally. It runs as a public HTTP endpoint and supports AI clients like Cursor, Claude Desktop, and VS Code.
- Optimize public image URLs by reducing file size and improving compression through ShortPixel's algorithms.
- Check image optimization metrics such as reduction percentage and get optimized image URLs returned by the API.
- Integrate image optimization into AI agent workflows by calling the optimize_image_urls tool with image URLs and format preferences.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| optimize_image_urls | Optimize one or more public image URLs via the ShortPixel SPIO API, returning reduced file size, optimization details, and optimized image URLs. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
