What it does
An MCP server that connects AI clients to the Qencode Transcoding API over OAuth. Developers can submit, monitor, and manage video transcoding jobs and manage media storage buckets through an AI assistant.
- Submit video transcoding jobs with parameters like codec, bitrate, and output format through natural language requests.
- Monitor the status and progress of transcoding jobs and wait for them to complete.
- Manage media storage buckets and download transcoded videos from Qencode Media Storage.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| transcode_video | Submit a video transcoding job from a source URL to one or more outputs, automatically injecting encoder version. |
| start_encode2_raw | Submit a transcoding job with the full query JSON exactly as the Qencode API expects. |
| get_job_status | Get a one-shot status snapshot of a transcoding job by task token. |
| get_job_status_detailed | Get the full authoritative job status including per-rendition progress and output details. |
| wait_for_job | Poll a transcoding job until it reaches terminal state or times out. |
| search_qencode_docs | Search the built-in knowledge base of recipes and reference documentation. |
| fetch_qencode_doc | Fetch the full content of a knowledge-base resource by its qencode:// URI. |
| list_buckets | List the Media Storage buckets available to the account. |
| create_bucket | Create a new Media Storage bucket. |
| list_objects | Browse the contents of a Media Storage bucket. |
| get_download_url | Return a time-limited download URL for an existing object in a bucket. |
| download_url_to_bucket | Copy a public URL into a Media Storage bucket on the server side. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
