What it does
Memxus is a persistent memory layer that stores project context, decisions, and preferences once and makes them accessible across multiple AI tools (Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, Gemini, and other MCP clients). It eliminates the need to re-explain context each time you switch between AI tools and can optionally sync with GitHub and Notion for deeper project context.
- Save a technical decision or architectural choice in one AI tool and recall it automatically in another AI tool without re-explaining.
- Connect your GitHub repositories and Notion workspace to make code, documentation, commits, and issues searchable as context alongside manually saved memories.
- Build AI applications with persistent user or team context that carries across multiple MCP-compatible clients and API calls.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| remember | Save decisions, preferences, or context that will be available across all connected AI tools. |
| recall | Retrieve saved context and memories from Memxus based on semantic search. |
| get_context | Fetch context from a specific collection, with optional filtering by project slug. |
| connect_source | Initiate connection to external sources like GitHub or Notion. |
| check_connect_status | Check the current status of connections to external sources. |
| list_syncable_items | Display available items from connected sources that can be synced into context. |
| set_sync_selection | Configure which items from connected sources should be synced into Memxus. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
