What it does
LeClap is an MCP server that composes and renders video from JSON templates. It runs deterministically on-device (Node.js, browser via WebAssembly, or React Native) without uploading to a server or using generative models, making it suitable for developers building video composition features into applications or AI agents.
- Author a video template as JSON and render it identically across Node, browser, and mobile platforms without server infrastructure.
- Let an AI agent programmatically compose and render videos by calling MCP tools, ensuring reproducible output rather than sampled results.
- Build video editing workflows that capture, trim, add filters and music, and render entirely on-device without user data leaving the phone.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| compose_video | Accepts a JSON template describing sections, filters, music, and overlays, then renders a video file. |
| validate_template | Validates a JSON video template against the schema before rendering. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
