What it does
Firmament is a shared knowledge base for AI agents that stores organizational facts and processes. Agents query it before acting and record what they learn, accumulating knowledge across sessions for a team.
- Before deploying, an agent asks for your team's release process and gets the actual runbook including manual steps not in documentation.
- When answering customer questions about pricing or refunds, an agent checks approved answers from your team's knowledge base first.
- After debugging or completing a multi-step migration, an agent records the solution or exact commands so future sessions and teammates benefit from the learning.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| ask | Look up facts and processes your team knows: organizational information, decisions, metrics, conventions, and steps that work in your organization. |
| submit | Record what the agent learned: new facts, decisions with reasoning, numbers, failure analysis, or multi-step process recipes back to the shared knowledge base. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
