What it does
E2a is an open-source email API that provides authenticated inbound mail with SPF/DKIM/DMARC verification, outbound sending via HTTP API, and human-in-the-loop approval gates. It is designed for applications and AI agents that need transactional email and two-way inboxes, available as a hosted service or self-hosted deployment.
- Send transactional email from applications using HTTP API, TypeScript SDK, or Python SDK.
- Give AI agents access to per-agent inboxes with message listing, sending, and reply capabilities via MCP, webhooks, WebSocket, or REST polling.
- Review and approve outbound agent email through an optional human-in-the-loop gate before delivery.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| list_messages | Retrieve messages from an agent's inbox. |
| send_message | Send email from an agent to any recipient. |
| reply_to_message | Reply to a received message. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
