What it does
This server connects AI assistants to DocMake, a document generation platform that renders DOCX and PDF files from templates. It lets Claude and other AI models generate documents by selecting templates, filling in data, and producing output files—all through conversation.
- Generate an invoice by describing the details in natural language, and have the assistant pick the right template and render a PDF.
- Query which fields a template requires, then fill it in for a specific person or project and save as DOCX.
- Import an existing Word document as a DocMake template to extract and identify its variables for reuse.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| list_templates | List templates in your workspace with search and pagination. |
| get_template | Retrieve a template's field structure, showing all variables it expects and their defaults. |
| render_document | Render a template to PDF or DOCX and save the file locally. |
| create_template | Create a new template from a document schema JSON. |
| import_docx | Import a local DOCX file as a new template and extract its variables. |
| get_usage | Check current plan, render quota, and rate limits for the billing period. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
