What it does
Cleanor is a zero-authentication MCP server with 22 tools for image optimization, QR code generation, and deterministic developer utilities. It runs as a hosted HTTP endpoint or local npm package, providing read-only operations safe for autonomous agents.
- Optimize images from URLs and convert between formats (WebP, AVIF, JPEG) with configurable quality and dimensions.
- Generate QR codes and placeholder SVG images for use in documents or applications.
- Perform reliable hashing, encoding, UUID generation, and JSON formatting tasks that language models typically get wrong.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| optimize_image | Fetches an image from a public URL and re-encodes it to a smaller size in WebP, AVIF, or JPEG format. |
| placeholder_image | Generates a dependency-free SVG placeholder image at specified dimensions with custom colors and text label. |
| qr_code | Encodes text or URLs as SVG QR codes with configurable error correction and size. |
| storage_capacity | Calculates how many photos or video minutes fit in a storage tier, accounting for OS and filesystem overhead. |
| image_format_savings | Reports size reduction percentages for WebP, AVIF, and JPEG XL compared to JPEG at matched perceptual quality. |
| hash | Computes SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384, or SHA-512 hex digest of text input. |
| hmac | Generates keyed HMAC signatures in hex or Base64 format for webhook signing and verification. |
| uuid | Generates UUID v4 (random) or v7 (time-sortable) identifiers. |
| base64 | Encodes or decodes Base64 strings with optional URL-safe alphabet support. |
| json_format | Validates, pretty-prints, or minifies JSON with optional deep key sorting. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
