What it does

MCP server that drives Adobe Creative Cloud applications (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Character Animator) via AppleScript from any MCP client on macOS. Built for designers and motion artists who want to automate or script Adobe workflows from Claude or other AI assistants.

  • Run ExtendScript code in After Effects, Photoshop, or Premiere Pro and get results back as JSON for processing or display.
  • Render a composition frame to PNG and have Claude see the visual output inline to verify the work.
  • Execute stored library scripts for common tasks like blueprint line extraction, seamless wind loops, or Auto Reframe operations.

Tools this server exposes

ToolDoes
run_extendscriptExecute arbitrary JSX code in the target Adobe application; return values come back as JSON, with automatic undo grouping.
get_project_stateRetrieve the project item tree or detailed layer information for a specific composition.
save_frameRender a composition frame to PNG and return it inline for visual inspection.
list_ae_scriptsList available JSX/JSXBin scripts in the scripts folder with descriptions from their header comments.
run_ae_scriptExecute a library script from the scripts folder, equivalent to File → Scripts → Run Script File.
knowledge_searchSearch the built-in knowledge base for lessons about API quirks, gotchas, and techniques.
knowledge_addRecord a new lesson or gotcha to the knowledge base for future reference.

Before you enable it

An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.

This server has not seen a commit in 2 mo. It may still work, but nobody is currently fixing it — check the alternatives before you build on it.
