What it does
Adeu is an MCP server that translates DOCX files into Markdown for LLM editing, then converts AI edits back to Word Track Changes while preserving formatting and structure. It is for developers and AI agents that need to programmatically redline or edit Word documents without destroying their layout or complex XML.
- Convert a DOCX file to Markdown, have an LLM edit the text content, then apply those changes back as Word Track Changes.
- Read a document's clean text view with semantic metadata to help an AI understand context before making edits.
- Accept, reject, or reply to existing Track Changes and comments in a document via API calls.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| read_docx | Read a DOCX file and return its content as Markdown with semantic metadata, optionally filtered by search query or page number. |
| process_document_batch | Apply a batch of changes to a DOCX file, including text modifications via search-and-replace or regex, and management of Track Changes and comments by ID. |
| finalize_document | Prepare a document for output by removing or scrubbing metadata. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
