What it does
This MCP server lets you design, simulate and analyze optical systems using the 3DOptix cloud platform with GPU-accelerated ray tracing. It is for developers building coding agents that need to work with optical setups, import Zemax designs, and run optical simulations.
- Design optical systems by placing lenses, detectors and light sources, then run GPU ray-trace simulations to analyze performance.
- Import existing Zemax optical designs into 3DOptix and identify where aberrations are worst.
- Build and optimize optical components like beam expanders, and generate spot diagrams and other optical analysis outputs.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| simulation | Run GPU-accelerated ray tracing simulations on optical setups. |
| rendering | Render visualizations of optical setups. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
