Mnema MCP server
What it does
Mnema is a local-first memory store for AI agents that persists learned facts and relationships. It exposes four tools over MCP to search, record, and browse agent knowledge across multiple clients (Claude, Cursor, scripts) from a single shared store on disk.
- Consult the memory store before taking an action to recall what an agent has learned in prior sessions.
- Learn and durably record facts discovered during agent work so they persist across conversations and clients.
- Browse related memories by walking the graph of connected facts to explore context around a topic.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| consult | Search the memory store using lexical and graph-based spreading activation to retrieve relevant learned facts with confidence bands. |
| learn | Record a durable fact into the shared memory store. |
| related | Walk the graph of related facts connected to a given memory entry. |
| list | Browse recent entries in the memory store. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
