What it does
Wuniq is a local-first knowledge engine that stores project decisions, constraints, and reasoning in `.wuniq` sidecar files. This MCP server connects AI tools to the Wuniq desktop app (Windows and Linux) so they can read and maintain structured knowledge alongside your project files.
- Read project context and decisions from `.wuniq` files before making code changes.
- Store and retrieve constraints, intent, and human reasoning that persist across AI sessions.
- Synchronize code changes back to the knowledge layer after editing files.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| open | List available Wuniq projects or open a specific project to load its knowledge context. |
| read | Read the Wuniq sidecar file (`.wuniq`) associated with a code file to retrieve stored context. |
| sync | Synchronize code changes back to the Wuniq knowledge layer after editing. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
