What it does

WPConvert Devtools provides an MCP server to convert frontend folders into WordPress themes. It runs conversions on the WPConvert.ai API and serves developers building WordPress themes from existing web projects without requiring WordPress credentials.

  • Check your account quota and credits before starting a theme conversion.
  • Convert a local frontend project folder into a WordPress theme and download the resulting theme.zip file.
  • Generate a WordPress Playground preview URL of your converted theme when you have a free developer account.

Tools this server exposes

ToolDoes
wpconvert_quotaCheck your account capabilities, remaining credits, and recommended next action.
wpconvert_convert_folderCompress and upload a folder to start a WordPress theme conversion job.
wpconvert_check_statusPoll the status of an ongoing conversion job.
wpconvert_download_resultDownload the generated theme.zip file when the conversion is complete and your account allows downloads.
wpconvert_create_previewGenerate a WordPress Playground preview URL for the converted theme.
wpconvert_explain_failureGet details about why a conversion failed and how to recover.

Before you enable it

An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
