What it does

Trail is an issue tracker and project memory system that integrates with coding agents. It gives agents access to team tracker items, shared project knowledge, reminders, and attachments, scoped to the folder being worked on.

  • Read and update project tracker items (issues, tasks, status changes) from your agent session, keeping the team board synchronized with agent work.
  • Store and retrieve project memory entries (deployment traps, architectural decisions, uncommon commands) that persist across agent sessions, so agents learn from past work.
  • Manage date-based reminders that agents can close or reschedule automatically when their dates arrive.

Before you enable it

An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
