What it does
This server provides access to Wikipedia article page-view trends via the Trends API, exposing historical view data, growth metrics, and live trending pages as 0-100 normalized scores. It is for developers who need to track attention and popularity of Wikipedia topics over time.
- Retrieve historical page-view trends for a Wikipedia article to see how reader interest has changed over a date range.
- Calculate growth percentages for a topic across predefined time windows (7D, 3M, 12M, etc.) or custom date ranges.
- Fetch currently trending Wikipedia pages ranked by recent view activity.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| get_time_series | Returns a list of date-value pairs showing normalized page-view trends (0-100 scale) for a keyword, optionally with absolute volume data. |
| get_growth | Calculates percentage growth for a keyword across specified time windows, returning growth magnitude and direction. |
| get_live | Returns currently trending Wikipedia pages ranked by recent activity, with optional pagination and category filtering. |
| get_top_trends | Retrieves trending pages for a specified feed type with limit and offset parameters. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
