What it does
Exposes news sentiment score trends for any topic via the Trends API, returning indexed sentiment values and growth metrics over time. Intended for developers who need historical news tone data without scraping news outlets directly.
- Retrieve a time series of daily news sentiment scores for a keyword such as a company or product name.
- Compare sentiment growth across multiple time windows (e.g. 3M, 12M, YTD) to identify shifts in news tone.
- Query top trending topics by sentiment alongside other sources using the same API key.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| get_time_series | Returns a list of dated sentiment index values (0–100) for a given keyword from the news sentiment source. |
| get_growth | Returns sentiment growth and direction for a keyword across one or more specified time windows. |
| get_top_trends | Returns currently top-trending topics, optionally filtered by type or source. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
