Lenshh Lt MCP server
What it does
LensHH-LT is a sequential optical design tool for refractive and reflective imaging systems. It loads lens designs from ZEMAX, OSLO, Code V, Optalix, Optiland, or native format, performs polychromatic analyses (spot, MTF, wavefront, aberration), and optimizes designs using merit functions and design operators. It is for optical engineers and lens designers who need programmatic access through an MCP server for integration with LLM agents.
- Load a ZEMAX or OSLO lens design and run MTF, wavefront, and Seidel aberration analyses to evaluate optical performance.
- Optimize a lens design by defining merit-function operands and running Levenberg-Marquardt or basin-hopping optimizers with glass substitution.
- Search a stock-lens catalog (Edmund, Thorlabs, Ross Optical), insert matching parts, and automatically refine the design using an LLM agent via the MCP interface.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| load_lens | Load a lens design from ZEMAX, OSLO, Code V, Optalix, Optiland, or native LensHH-LT format. |
| run_analysis | Execute polychromatic analyses including spot diagram, MTF, wavefront, OPD, Seidel aberrations, Zernike coefficients, distortion, and field curvature. |
| optimize | Run merit-function-driven optimization using Levenberg-Marquardt, multistart, or basin-hopping algorithms with design-shape operators. |
| search_stock_lenses | Query the bundled stock-lens catalog (7,600 parts from Edmund, Thorlabs, Ross Optical) to find matching optical components. |
| insert_stock_lens | Insert a stock lens part from the catalog into the current design. |
| reverse_lens | Reverse-engineer or reorder lens elements in a design. |
| sasian_design_start | Begin an end-to-end Sasian pipeline that builds a Cooke-triplet skeleton, optimizes with glass substitution, and replaces elements with stock parts. |
| sasian_design_status | Check the status of an active Sasian design orchestration. |
| sasian_design_cancel | Cancel an in-progress Sasian design orchestration. |
| sasian_design_discard | Discard and clean up a Sasian design session. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
