What it does

Constellation is an MCP server that gives AI coding assistants access to code intelligence—function definitions, dependencies, and relationships—without sending actual source code. It analyzes your codebase locally, uploads only metadata to a knowledge graph, and lets AI assistants query that structure during coding tasks.

  • Query function signatures, class hierarchies, and import relationships to help an AI assistant understand how to call existing code in your project.
  • Find where a specific function or variable is used across your codebase to provide context for refactoring or debugging tasks.
  • Explore module dependencies and module structure so an AI assistant can suggest where new code should be placed or what existing patterns to follow.

Before you enable it

An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
