What it does
This server connects Claude to SCADA Miner, a data warehouse for Australia's National Electricity Market (NEM). You query AEMO dispatch data—spot prices, generation output, FCAS markets, interconnector flows, and bids—using natural language, which Claude converts to read-only SQL and returns with numbers and charts.
- Look up current or historical spot prices and FCAS prices across NEM regions over a specified period.
- Check generation output from specific power stations, fuel types, or regions to analyze market composition.
- Explore interconnector flows, transmission constraints, and bid data to understand market operation and asset performance.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| search_entities | Search for NEM entities like power stations, DUIDs, or regions. |
| list_capabilities | List the validated question types the warehouse can answer. |
| run_capability | Execute a pre-validated query capability against the warehouse. |
| execute_sql | Run read-only SQL directly against the NEM data warehouse. |
| build_chart | Generate charts from query results. |
| get_data_freshness | Check how recently the warehouse data has been updated. |
| get_table_schema | Retrieve the schema of a data table in the warehouse. |
| get_concept | Fetch definitions or documentation for NEM concepts. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
