What it does
MCPLookup exposes trust ratings and security evidence for MCP servers through three read-only tools. It is for developers who need to evaluate the reliability and maintenance status of MCP servers before integrating them.
- Resolve a server name, package identifier, or endpoint to its canonical MCPLookup entry.
- Search for MCP servers using MCPLookup's taxonomy and find up to five matching results.
- Look up a server's current Trust Index score, verdict, and supporting evidence.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| resolve_server | Resolves a title, package, endpoint, or name to a canonical server. |
| find_servers | Finds up to five servers using MCPLookup's normalized taxonomy. |
| trust_lookup | Returns the current Trust Index, verdict, evidence, and citation for a server. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
