What it does
KIAgent is a desktop application that ingests personal data (email, documents, chats, notes) into a local SQLite database and serves it to AI assistants over MCP. Everything runs locally on your machine with no data leaving your device, and it includes a plugin system for connecting to external data sources like Gmail, Drive, Slack, and Notion.
- Query your personal email, documents, and notes from Claude Desktop or other AI clients without uploading your data to external servers.
- Index scattered information from multiple sources (Gmail, Microsoft 365, Slack, local folders) into one searchable local corpus that AI assistants can reference.
- Build custom data connectors via the plugin/extension system to bring additional personal data sources into your local knowledge base.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| corpus_search | Search indexed documents in the local SQLite database by keyword or semantic query. |
| document_retrieval | Fetch full text and metadata for specific documents stored in the corpus. |
| source_list | List configured data sources (Gmail, Drive, Slack, Notion, local folders) and their sync status. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
