What it does

Exposes hourly electricity grid carbon intensity in gCO2eq/kWh for 45 zones across Europe, the United States, and Great Britain, sourced from ENTSO-E, EIA, and NESO. Useful for applications that need to schedule energy consumption based on grid carbon emissions, without requiring an API key or signup.

  • Schedule compute workloads or data processing tasks to run when grid carbon intensity is lowest in a given region.
  • Display current or historical carbon intensity to users to inform their energy consumption decisions.
  • Rank regions by carbon intensity to identify which zones have cleanest electricity at a given time.

Tools this server exposes

ToolDoes
get_carbon_intensityRetrieve the latest hourly carbon intensity reading for one or more zones.
get_historical_intensityRetrieve historical carbon intensity data for a zone over a date range.
get_forecast_intensityRetrieve forecasted carbon intensity for upcoming hours in a zone.

Before you enable it

An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.

This server has not seen a commit in 10 d. It may still work, but nobody is currently fixing it — check the alternatives before you build on it.
