What it does
An MCP server that provides query, storage, listing, and annotation tools for 15 different database engines (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, SQLite, Cassandra, DynamoDB, ClickHouse, Elasticsearch, Neo4j, MariaDB, InfluxDB, Prometheus, TimescaleDB, and CockroachDB) through a unified HTTP endpoint. For developers who want to connect AI assistants or MCP clients to free cloud database instances.
- Query data from any of 15 database engines using their native query language (SQL, Cypher, CQL, PromQL, etc.) through a single MCP interface.
- Insert or upsert data into cloud databases without setting up native database drivers or handling protocol-specific connection details.
- Enumerate database structures (tables, collections, indices, measurements) and annotate them with human-readable descriptions so AI models understand what data they contain.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| db_query | Execute read queries in the engine's native language (SQL, CQL, Cypher, Flux, PromQL, Elasticsearch DSL, MongoDB find/aggregate, or Redis commands). |
| db_store | Insert, upsert, or write data to the database using the appropriate command for each engine. |
| db_list_tables | List database containers such as tables, collections, keyspaces, indices, measurements, metric names, or keys. |
| db_annotate_table | Attach human-readable descriptions to database containers so the model understands the meaning of columns and fields. |
| pg_dump | PostgreSQL-specific tool to export database contents. |
| pg_restore | PostgreSQL-specific tool to restore database contents. |
| pg_tables | PostgreSQL-specific tool to list tables. |
| sqlite_master | SQLite-specific tool to access the schema metadata. |
| sqlite_version | SQLite-specific tool to retrieve the SQLite version. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
