What it does

ReviewGuard is an MCP server that manages GitHub PR reviews on behalf of AI agents while keeping the write-enabled GitHub token secure on the server side. The agent can draft reviews in pending mode (invisible until human submission) or submit reviews directly in opt-in mode, with configurable restrictions on what actions are allowed.

  • Have an AI assistant draft PR review comments that a human reviewer can inspect and submit themselves before the comments become visible.
  • Run an autonomous review bot that automatically submits comment-only or approval reviews to pull requests without exposing the GitHub token to the agent.
  • Let an AI agent resolve its own review threads (marking them as fixed) while preventing it from modifying other reviewers' threads or accessing unrelated repositories.

Before you enable it

An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
