What it does
Clarigrid is a Python SDK that provides a unified interface to access European and U.S. energy market data—including electricity prices, load, generation, gas flows, and weather—from multiple public and key-protected data sources. It normalizes data into timezone-aware pandas DataFrames with consistent column names and units.
- Fetch historical or current electricity prices, load, and generation data for European countries and U.S. balancing authorities via a single API.
- Retrieve gas flow data from ENTSOG zones and other European gas transmission operators.
- Access global historical weather and solar irradiance data to correlate with energy demand and renewable generation.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| get_prices | Retrieve electricity market prices for a given zone and date range. |
| get_load | Retrieve electricity load (demand) data for a given zone and date range. |
| get_generation | Retrieve electricity generation data (by fuel type or total) for a given zone and date range. |
| get_gas_flows | Retrieve gas transmission flows for a given zone identifier and date range. |
| get_weather | Retrieve historical weather and solar data for a geographic coordinate and date range. |
| connect | Register a data provider and its coverage; multiple calls accumulate zone/dataset coverage with later calls overriding earlier ones. |
| set_timezone | Set the output timezone for all returned data (default is UTC). |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
