What it does
Cellarion exposes a public wine registry with search, grape varieties, regions, and appellations, plus an MCP server that lets AI assistants read and manage a user's personal wine cellar. It is for developers building wine-aware applications or integrating AI assistants with wine collections.
- Search the shared wine registry by producer, vintage, region, grape, or appellation to retrieve wine details.
- Allow Claude or other MCP-capable AI clients to query and manage a user's cellar conversationally through the MCP server at /api/mcp.
- Integrate wine label data, regional grape names, and maturity windows into custom applications via the registry's canonical wine records.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| wine_registry_search | Search wines, grapes, regions, and appellations in the shared registry using fuzzy matching. |
| cellar_read | Retrieve details of bottles in a user's cellar, including vintage, producer, rating, tasting notes, and drink-window status. |
| cellar_manage | Add, update, open, close, or remove bottles from a user's cellar through the MCP server. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
