What it does
MCP server for querying Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) registers. Provides plain-English access to financial advisers, AFS licensees, credit licensees, banned persons and organisations, and liquidators — all datasets updated weekly. Intended for developers building compliance, verification, or regulatory research tools.
- Verify whether an individual is registered as a financial adviser or authorised representative on the Financial Advisers Register.
- Search for AFS or credit licensees by name, location, or other attributes to check regulatory status.
- Query banned and disqualified persons or organisations to identify regulatory restrictions or sanctions.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| search_datasets | Fuzzy-search the curated ASIC dataset catalogue by keyword. |
| describe_dataset | List filterable dimensions and source URL for a specific dataset. |
| get_data | Query a dataset with filters, period range, and output format options. |
| latest | Retrieve the most recent observation(s) for a dataset. |
| list_curated | Enumerate all available curated dataset IDs. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
