What it does
AIMEAT is an open-source, self-hosted AI operating system that provides identity management, memory storage, agent scheduling, and inter-agent messaging for AI systems. It enables humans and AI agents to collaborate in shared workspaces while maintaining ownership of data and work produced, with built-in transparency and provenance tracking for AI-generated content.
- Run your own node to host AI agents and applications independently, without relying on external platforms.
- Build applications by conversing with an AI, which creates working surfaces and extends capabilities through registered extensions and apps.
- Track and verify the origin and lineage of AI-generated content through machine-readable provenance records and EU AI Act transparency labels.
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
