Cornea MCP server
What it does
Cornea is a visual inspection tool that analyzes HTML layouts and reports structural issues like overlaps, overflows, contrast problems, and quality scores. It runs as a CLI, MCP server, or HTTP API and produces deterministic results without needing a browser.
- Check if a web page layout is broken—overlapping elements, content clipped by viewport, text contrast failures—by running a single command or MCP tool call.
- Give a coding agent concrete visual feedback about pages it builds, using token-efficient structured data instead of screenshots.
- Monitor layout health during development by pointing Cornea at a local dev server and inspecting live pages across different viewport sizes.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| layout.inspect | Analyzes HTML and returns the full visual geometry model, element positions, and inspection report. |
| layout.overlaps | Reports elements whose bounding boxes collide with each other. |
| layout.overflow | Identifies elements clipped by the viewport or hidden by overflow. |
| layout.contrast | Computes foreground-to-background contrast ratios for text elements and reports WCAG AA compliance. |
| layout.quality | Returns a 0–1 health score and list of detected issues. |
| layout.fidelity | Reports which CSS features are computed exactly versus approximated by the engine. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
