What it does
An MCP server for managing Google Tasks through AI, providing 15 tools to read and modify task lists, tasks, subtasks, due dates, and completion status. It uses the Google Tasks API and is designed for developers building AI applications that need to interface with Google Tasks.
- Query your task lists and filter tasks by due date or completion status to get a summary of what needs to be done.
- Create new tasks or subtasks with due dates and notes, organize them within existing task lists, and move tasks between lists.
- Mark tasks as complete or reopen them, and permanently delete tasks when needed.
Tools this server exposes
| Tool | Does |
|---|---|
| list_task_lists | List all task lists in your Google Tasks account. |
| get_task_list | Get details of a specific task list. |
| create_task_list | Create a new task list. |
| update_task_list | Update the title of a task list. |
| delete_task_list | Delete a task list permanently. |
| list_tasks | List tasks in a task list with optional filtering. |
| get_task | Get details of a specific task. |
| create_task | Create a new task with optional title, notes, due date, and parent task. |
| update_task | Update a task's title, notes, or due date. |
| complete_task | Mark a task as completed. |
| reopen_task | Reopen a completed task. |
| move_task | Move a task to a different position in a list or to a different list. |
| delete_task | Delete a task permanently. |
| clear_completed_tasks | Delete all completed tasks from a task list. |
| call_api | Call the Google Tasks API directly for operations not covered by dedicated tools. |
Before you enable it
An MCP server runs with whatever access you give it. Start with a development account rather than production, and check which tools the server exposes before you let an agent call them unattended.
